All mattresses at Healthy Choice are composed of 100% natural Talalay latex, organic cotton and organic wool. To gain a greater understanding of the differences between Talalay and Dunlop please review the chart below.
|Talalay Latex||Dunlop Latex|
|Feel||Talalay has a more buoyant, weightless and feather-like feel. Most importantly, the Talalay process creates a more consistent level of comfort that guarantees the bed in your home feels precisely like the one in the showroom.||Dunlop has a denser and less buoyant feel. Some people describe this as a "dead" feel. The Dunlop process allows the particles in the material to settle to the bottom of the mold making it firmer on one side and less consistent overall.|
|Pressure Relief||Relieves pressure up to 33% better than Dunlop and other man-made foams. Talalay's instant conforming properties drastically reduce tossing and turning by relieving pressure on the hips and shoulders.||Dunlop is not as pliable as Talalay and therefore does not conform to the body as well or offer as much pressure relief. Dunlop will provide the necessary support but will not provide the relief to shoulders and hips as well as Talalay.|
|Breathability||Talalay offers an Open-Cell structure which provides full ventilation. Unlike Dunlop and man-made Polyurethane such as Memory Foam which traps heat on the surface of the bed, Talalay allows for air flow from top to bottom in the mattress.||The Dunlop latex manufacturing process leaves a skin over the top of the materials which greatly reduces breathability and can make it sleep hot.|
|Health||Naturally hypo-allergenic, dust mite resistant and anti-microbial, there are no harmful chemicals used to manufacture Talalay Latex. Great for allergy sufferers and those with asthma.||Dunlop shares these properties with Talalay.|
|Consistancy||The most consistent latex available. The Talalay latex manufacturing process allows for a more accurate and consistent firmness from top to bottom.||The Dunlop manufacturing process creates a more inconsistent feel. Material settles to the bottom making it firmer on one side and inconsistent throughout.|
|Durability||The most durable and consistent material to manufacture a mattress out of. Talalay is famous for its long-lasting consistent feel. It is not uncommon to find people who have slept on Talalay latex beds for thirty years or more.||More inexpensive to manufacture, Dunlop has been proven to break down more quickly than Talalay Latex.|
|Manufacturing Process||Talalay is the most advanced latex manufacturing process available. It is vacuum molded and frozen to maintain perfect consistency and to create a wide range of feels from extra firm to pillow soft.||Dunlop is a much older manufacturing process that was created in 1929. It allows particles in the material to settle to the bottom creating an inconsistent feel and less durable product.|
